I find it amusing this game we call business.
Some days are tougher than others.
Some days require more than others.
Some days bring the shedding of tears.
Some days you feel on top of the world.
Some days you feel like everything is broken.
I saw someone post this today and I absolutely relate to it so much, “the cost of success is years of feeling like an idiot for things you should’ve known by now”
There are things I’ve learned.
But learning doesn’t mean I’ve implemented them.
Simple principles in business we know.
We know we need to track, but we don’t.
We know we need to delegate, but we don’t.
We know that we need to inspire our people and not act harshly, but we don’t.
We know we need to prospect daily, but we don’t.
3 weeks ago felt like one of the hardest weeks of my life and business. But I’m reminded that simply implementing the basics daily creates the results we are looking for.
I’m reminded today of something Neil Morton shared with me in a moment where we experienced struggle a few years back in business.
He said to me, “don’t let the highs get to high and the lows get to low”
Business is a journey.
It’s a marathon not a sprint.
We learn something new everyday.
