Choosing Sheridan St.: A Journey in Rebranding and Client Alignment

A couple years ago we branded our company from StudioPTBO to Sheridan St.

This was quite the exercise because for so long our identity was that we were an agency from Peterborough Canada, hence the PTBO…

But as we grew, things changed.

We no longer only work with businesses in Peterborough. We now serve businesses all across North America.

When we made the decision to go all in on the real estate space I was conflicted because I felt like our company name no longer matched the types of clients we wanted to attract.

So who is it that we are looking to work with?

People that are:

  1. Passionate & energetic
  2. Growth minded & driven
  3. Friendly & coachable 
  4. Kind & collaborative

We are looking to attract more high performing real estate agents and real estate team leads that share our ethos and values to life and business. 

Most of these clients we attract believe in investing into coaching and into marketing their businesses to grow long term. 

But ultimately this belief ties us together…

Once we got clear on who we wanted to attract the naming of our company came down to this:

  1. I felt like the name Sheridan St. energetically would attract the right types of clients that I listed above.
  2. This was also an ode to the past because my agency started as StudioPTBO in Peterborough Canada and our office happened to be located on Sheridan St.
  3. With Sheridan St. being a literal street, I felt that this was a lot more simple to explain to real estate agents.

The lesson here? Get real clear on:

  1. Who you want to serve
  2. What you want to be known for
  3. The fundamental beliefs that will guide your organization
